About

Molly Garner is an actor, educator, and choreographer whose work spans theatre, dance, musical theatre, film, and voiceover. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s BFA Musical Theatre program, she has built a career performing and teaching across the country, including three national tours: Billy Elliot, Mary Poppins, and 101 Dalmatians, working with acclaimed directors and choreographers including Jerry Zaks and Warren Carlyle.

Molly’s recent acting work includes co-starring in the rolling world premiere of Sharyn Rothstein’s Bad Books at Williamston Theatre in Michigan. Her regional credits include Indianapolis Repertory Theatre, where she played Gay Wellington in You Can’t Take It With You; Summit Performance Group, where she appeared as Annie Cannon in Silent Sky; Phoenix Theatre, where she played Alice Murphy in Bright Star; as well as engagements with Barrington Stage Company, The Muny, Gateway Playhouse, Musical Theatre West, and West Virginia Public Theatre, among others.

Her film credits include Rosie’s Rescue (Amazon Prime), and she works frequently in commercial and voiceover, with credits for Hancock Health, National Bank of Indianapolis, Libman Mops, and other national and regional clients. As a choreographer, Molly’s recent credits include Lucky Stiff at Flint Repertory Theatre and Titanic for the University of Michigan’s musical theatre program. She has also served as a guest artist at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

As an educator, Molly spent seven years teaching jazz and theatre dance at Ball State University and Anderson University in Indiana. She is a guest artist with the University of Michigan’s musical theatre program, most recently teaching ballet and acting for dancers at MPulse, the university’s prestigious summer program, for the second consecutive year. She has also taught at Ballet Academy East and Physique 57 in New York City, as well as at studios throughout the Midwest.

Molly is equally at home onstage, in the rehearsal room, and in the dance studio, bringing the perspective of a working performer to her teaching and choreography. She is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and lives in Saline, Michigan, with her husband and two daughters. She is represented by Wink Talent in Detroit and Talent Fusion in Indiana
